The old medicine case notes in circulation are thin, and thin notes teach the wrong habit. When the real paper hands you a dense set, the skill you never practised is the one you need: deciding what to leave out. The 2026 paper gives denser notes, harder selection decisions, and letter types well beyond the simple referral. So these are mine: written in house, calibrated to the 2026 difficulty index, in the exact exam format, the case notes and the writing task, five minutes reading, forty minutes writing, a body of 180 to 200 words.

How to practise with these cases
Write under real exam conditions, always. Five minutes reading the case notes and deciding what to pick and what to leave out. Forty minutes writing, no dictionary, no help. A body of 180 to 200 words. Then judge yourself against the six criteria the exam actually uses: Purpose, Content, Conciseness and Clarity, Genre and Style, Organisation and Layout, and Language.
